Disney World has previewed the menu for its Be Our Guest restaurant, which is expected to open later this year as part of the ongoing Fantasyland expansion.
The eatery, named after a big production number in the Disney's "Beauty and the Beast," will feature "quick service" during lunch hours and then morph into table service in the evening.
At lunchtime, guests will order at a terminal, find a seat and then the food will be delivered to the table, according to the Disney Parks Blog. The meals will be presented on china — not paper, the blog says.
The menu offerings reflect the French setting of the animated film. For lunch, expect tuna Niçoise salad, Croque Monsieur sandwich, carved turkey on a warm baguette with Dijon mayonnaise, grilled steak sandwich with garlic butter spread, braised pork, vegetable quiche and more. Naturally, there will be pommes frites, or, as we say in the USA, french fries.
Dinnertime entrées will include pork rack chop with au gratin pasta, rotisserie rock hen with roasted fingerling potatoes, pan-seared salmon in leek fondue, grilled strip steak, sautéed shrimp and scallops with veggies in puff pastry with creamy lobster sauce and an oven-baked ratatouille.
Kids' menu items will include Mickey meatloaf, seared mahi mahi and whole-grain macaroni topped with marinara and mozzarella and others.
Be Our Guest, set inside Beast's castle, is currently visible above the Fantasyland construction walls, and its design is inspired by the film.
Disney will start taking reservations for Be Our Guest sometime in August. The restaurant and other key Fantasyland attractions are scheduled to be open by the holiday season.
