As the opening of the new sections of Fantasyland approaches, Disney has been releasing more images of the detail work going into those areas as well as some new renderings illustrating the largest expansion in Magic Kingdom history.
The "signature images" as the Disney Parks Blog calls them shows the view of Fantasyland from the top of Cinderella Castle, Belle from "Beauty and the Beast" sitting outside her cottage and Ariel from "The Little Mermaid" gazing up at Prince Eric's castle.
More recent images released show details of Beast's Castle, the Be Our Guest restaurant, Maurice's Cottage and Gaston's Tavern including a statue of Gaston himself.
Details of Prince Eric's Castle have been released as well. This is where the dark ride "Under the Sea ~ Journey of The Little Mermaid" will be housed.
Both the Little Mermaid and Beauty and the Beast sections are among the next phases of Fantasyland to open. A preview of these will begin Nov. 19 with a grand opening set for Dec. 6.
One other set of recent images show details of the posters inside one of the two big top tents of Storybook Circus. This tent will house a character greeting space called Pete's Silly Sideshow. The characters are Minnie, Daisy, Donald and Goofy in their sideshow personas. In one line will be circus star Minnie Magnifique and fortune teller Madame Daisy Fortuna. The other line will feature daredevil stunt pilot The Great Goofini and snake charmer The Astounding Donaldo.
There is no set date for the opening of this part of Storybook Circus, but other features of Fantasyland will roll out in 2013 including the with Princess Fairytale Hall which is being built where the old Scary Adventures of Snow White ride was, and continue into 2014 with the Seven Dwarfs Mine Train roller coaster.
Opened earlier this year were the dueling Dumbo rides, Goofy's Barnstormer roller coaster, Casey Jr. Splash 'N' Soak station as well as a train stop in the Storybook Circus section.
