Canaan Valley Resort in West Virginia, named a 6,000 acre "mountain playground" by Washingtonian Magazine, is the ultimate destination for the winter sports lover. The winter season brings skiers of all ages and levels to Canaan's 39 slopes. With lodge rooms, cottages and cabins, this resort offers a comfortable and affordable way to stay on the slopes. Other snow activities include tubing, cross-country skiing and ice-skating.

Four-lane tubing park, airboarding park, two terrain parks, covered ice skating rink, cross country skiing, snowshoeing, indoor pools and a fitness club.

FOR THE KIDS

The Kidz Korner, for children 2-6 years, offers crafts, story telling and videos.

Canaan's Ski Club offers daily one-hour lessons for ages 3-5, from 9 a.m.-2 p.m.

The Skier Program is for ages 6-12 and offered for full- and half-day sessions. Program price includes lift ticket, rental and lesson. Full-day program includes a lunch.

The Rider Program is for ages 9-12 and includes lift ticket, rental and lesson. Full-day program includes a lunch.


ON-SITE LODGING

Canaan Valley Lodge has 250 guest rooms, 23 private cabins and cottages and 34 campsites. All lodging reservations can be customized with ski packages. Kids younger than 12 staying in the lodge ski and stay for free with a parent.

OFF-SITE LODGING

The Windwood Fly In Resort: Resort offers a motel and bunkrooms with 75 beds in three rooms. Cortland Road, Davis, WV.

ON-SITE FOOD AND DRINK

The Hickory Dining Room in the Main Lodge is open daily for breakfast, lunch and dinner. There is also a food court and pub.
