• Okemo ski report and snow conditions
As Okemo's promoters repeat regularly, "the difference is snow." And they're right. Okemo has extensive snowmaking capacity, which they complement with intensive and meticulous grooming -- second only to New Hampshire's Mt. Sunapee, which has less than half Okemo's acreage. Combine that with the highest vertical drop in southern Vermont, and it's not surprising that many families in particular swear by "good old reliable Okemo." The recent addition of more challenging terrain at Jackson Gore (not to mention the whole new base village) and the continued dedication to terrain parks (second only to Stratton), however, are only serving to make the refrain "even better, new reliable Okemo."
