If you wake up one morning and to decide to go skiing for a few hours, head to Ski Roundtop in south central Pennsylvania, which offers flexible ski tickets. Skiers can choose from full day, four hours, eight hours or evening packages. Try out any of its 16 trails or the snowtubing park.

FOR THE KIDS

Snow Rangers (skiing ages 4-12, snowboarding ages 6-12): Three-session format program includes lift ticket, lesson and rental. Sessions are 90 minutes. Choose one of the sessions or all three.
Night Owls (skiing ages 4-12, snowboarding ages 6-12): Night lessons are also available; package includes lift ticket, lesson and rental. The lift ticket is valid from 4-10 p.m.
Private lessons (ages 3-12): Half-hour and one-hour lessons that focus on individual needs; lift ticket and rental are not included.
Ski with me (ages 3-12): One-hour lesson for one child and one parent. Lift ticket and rental are not included.
Mountain explorers (ages 6-17): Package includes individual tips, seeing yourself on video and lunch with your instructor. All ability levels are encouraged.
