What it is: Neoprene footwear for those times you want to go shoeless but don't want to pad around barefoot or in your socks. Think, on the plane, at the yoga studio or running out to pick up the Sunday paper off the front step.
The good: They're lightweight, and you can stash them virtually anywhere — even in your pocket — without eating up space. Because they're made of neoprene, they're water resistant and will keep your feet drier than regular socks. They mold tightly to your feet as long as you don't order a size too large, and they have skid-resistant soles, though don't expect the grip of a shoe. For men, you get a choice of ankle-height booties or lower-cut footies in a variety of colors and with a wide stripe that makes them look a little spiffier. Women get a choice of Mary Janes or ballet flats, and in addition to solid colors with black trim, there are polka-dot or leopard-print patterns.
The bad: Don't expect them to keep your feet warm if it's a little nippy. You could always wear them over your socks, though.
