Speakers for your pillow

Name: Sound Oasis Sleep Therapy Pillow Speakers

What they are: Two small plastic speakers attached by a cord that plugs into a device, be it MP3 player, TV or good old Walkman. Place the speakers in your pillowcase or under your pillow, close your eyes and listen.

The good: These speakers offer a convenient way to listen to audio in bed. They're small enough that they won't make your pillow any less comfortable and are ideal for audio with little definition, such as podcasts or books on tape. Music might be OK if you're just looking for gentle tunes as pre-sleep relaxation or even just for white noise. One key feature is that used right and set to a minimal volume, your bedmate won't be able to hear them.

The bad: The product claims to provide "superior stereo sound," but that's silly. One byproduct of listening to speakers through a pillow is that the sound becomes horribly muddled. That's why these are best suited to words, not music.

Cost: $22.99
