Reality TV star causes ruckus, gets arrested in Ocean City

A reality TV star and professional skateboarder with ties to Baltimore was arrested last week in Ocean City after police were called to disturbances at a restaurant and a hotel.

Brandon Novak, known for his reality TV and movie appearances with MTV star Bam Margera, was at the Ocean View Grill & BBQ on 16th Street with a friend on July 30 when the duo became disorderly, according to police. The restaurant asked the two men, who reportedly appeared intoxicated and were disturbing other diners, to leave but they refused. Police were called around 8:20 a.m. and after speaking to the officers, the men paid their bill and left.

Police said Novak, 35, and the other man returned to their nearby hotel, the Quality Inn at 17th Street and the boardwalk, where staff then called police in an effort to evict the guests from their rooms.

Novak, whose group at the beach included his pal Margera of MTV's "Jackass" and "Viva La Bam" reality TV fame, was arrested on an outstanding Cecil County warrant for a traffic violation, police said. The rest of his group, including Margera, left the hotel without incident, police said.

The Daily Times, which first reported the arrest, said Margera was not involved in this "run-in with police."

Novak, who wrote a book - "Dreamseller" - about his experiences with heroin in Baltimore and now lives in West Chester, Pa., later posted a video of his arrest on Instagram, where he noted "came on vacation, left on probation."

Along with his reality TV appearances, Novak has also appeared in several of the "Jackass" films.
