Rainy days at the beach are a bummer - if you let them be. There are still some fun, indoor, things to do with the family when dark clouds hover over the shore. Here are a couple good places to go, perfect for days like today.

Indoor mini-golf. An Ocean City staple, moved indoors. Old Pro Golf has two indoor locations in town. The uptown location at 136th St. has an indoor course with a safari theme. The location on 68th St. is underwater themed and packed with sea creatures.

Ice skating. Unleash your inner figure skater. Or, if you're like me, struggle to remain standing. The Carousel Resort Hotel and Condominiums on 117th Street has an indoor ice-skating rink, perfect for a piece of winter in the summer. They rent out skates too, so don't worry about packing your own.

Bowling. Throw a game or two. Ocean Lanes on 72nd Street is a good place to go with the kids on a rainy day. And, they even have a snack bar so you don't have to leave for lunch.

Catch a movie. There are two movie theaters in Ocean City. Sun and Surf Cinema is on 143rd Street, and the Fox Theatre at the Gold Coast Mall is on 113th Street. Both are pretty old, but the ambiance matters less when you get wrapped up in a good film.

Go to the arcade. There are a couple arcades on the boardwalk, but Marty's Playland at the inlet is the best because of the old-style arcade games it has. There's something special about playing skee-ball on an old machine- the old pokerino game in the back is also a sure bet for some retro fun.

Go to Trimper's indoor rides. Even when it's pouring, you can duck into the indoor section of Trimper's at the inlet. Take a spin on the antique carousel - now 100 years old.

Learn some Ocean City history. Visit the Ocean City Life-Saving Station Museum at the most southern end of the boardwalk. This museum is especially great for kids, and adults, who love learning about nautical history.
