Macky's Tuesday theme nights rev up O.C. nightlife

If you're looking for something different in your Ocean City nightlife experience, Macky's Bayside Bar and Grill is a great spot to check out. It has everything you would want from a bar on the bay, from a beach by the water to an open air bar. They also have one unique thing that really separates them from other bayside bars: their famous theme parties.

A local favorite, the parties happen every Tuesday night with different themes each week. Guests can dress up, enjoy some cheap drink specials and check out the other costumes- some get pretty wild.

So far this summer, there have been themes like Revenge of the Nerds, Luau and Super Hero. On July 4th, there was a USA theme featuring, you guessed it, lots of red, white and blue.

The most recent party, the Mustache Bash, had locals and tourists alike coming out to show off their finest facial hair, real or fake. The bartenders' mustaches were some of the most impressive of the night. But mustache or no, the added fun of a costume party amped up the vibe at Macky's, providing a really unique night out, beyond the typical dancing and drink specials. The parties bring some extra excitement to a regular Tuesday night.

Also, an added bonus is that you get to skip cover if you dress in theme. Otherwise, you have to pay $5, with 100 percent going to a variety of charities, including local schools and charities supporting rescue dogs. Pam Stansell, who owns the restaurant along with her husband Macky, said they are dedicated to supporting a number of local charities and helping to improve the community.

Upcoming theme parties include Jersey Shore, Anything But Clothes and Zombie Apocalypse. Macky's also has a regular Little Black Dress night each Thursday, where anyone wearing a black dress gets half off wine and cocktails.
