When you arrive in town, Rosenfeld’s Jewish Delicatessen on 63rd Street bayside should be your first stop. The menu is packed with staples from falafel and hummus to stuffed cabbage and potato latkes. This is truly a one-of-a-kind eatery in the Ocean City area, so you’ll want to check it out.
Walk a few blocks to 67th Street — not too far to be tired, but just far enough to burn off some of those calories — and you’ll find the TownCenter Midtown Boardwalk. This brand-new shopping center is packed with new retailers and eateries, including Ron Jon Surf Shop’s new 6,500-square-foot store.
Despite much fanfare at its Thursday grand opening celebration — there were steel drum bands, juggling, live radio broadcasts and more — some competitors have launched a Facebook campaign to turn people away from the megastore. “Boycott Ron Jon, Support Your Local Surf Shop” has been posted on the pages of many mom-and-pop surf shops and their supporters.
While there’s plenty to see and do in Ocean City this summer, you won’t want to leave until you taste the donuts from the The Fractured Prune’s new Boardwalk location at 1st Street. Served hot and fresh, they are an Ocean City favorite.
Another new spot is Supremo Cheesesteaks on 118th Street bayside at the former location of Brianna’s Bananas.
There’s a lot to see — and eat — in Ocean City this summer, so bring your appetite and your wallet.
