1.Wear sunscreen. It's such a drag, but skin cancer is worse. So apply some sunscreen before, during and after you hit the beach. And don't forget your hat.

Summer may have started a while back, but July is when things really pick up in Ocean City. Accordingly, the town has a ton of free programs in July. Here is a calendar, so you know what there is to do for free in O.C. each day of the week:
Family Fun Olympics: Everyone will be in the Olympic spirit once the games start at the end of July. So, join in the fun with free competitive events for families. Events to include tug of war, relays, castles contests and other friendly competitions. When: Tuesdays, 6:30 p.m.-8:30 p.m., 27th St. on the beach.
Beach Fireworks: As part of the "summer of thanks" in Ocean City, the town is putting on a fireworks show every Tuesday from July 10-September 2 right at the heart of the boardwalk.
When: Tuesdays, 10 p.m., North Division St. and the beach.
Concerts on the Beach: Bring your own chair and blanket to watch live bands perform right on the ocean. If you're on the boardwalk for the evening, it is easy to wander over and listen for awhile. When: Wednesdays (excluding August 1), July 11-August 29, 8 p.m., North Division St and the beach.
Sunset Party Nights: Watch the sunset on the bay from a great vantage point near the inlet, while listening to live music. When: Thursdays, July 5-August 30, 7 p.m., South Division St. and the bay
Movies on the Beach: Catch a movie with the kids by the ocean, free of charge. Bring your own chairs and blankets! When: You can catch the movies at the following times and locations :
