I'll tell you what Salt Lake City doesn't need! Pepper! That place is full of spice!
I recently went there and had a blast.
The city is very beautiful, and unlike most, it is surrounded by beautiful mountains. I was so inspired walking around downtown and looking out past the skyscrapers and seeing mountains. While I was there, I decided to just wander around and see where the city would take me, and naturally, it lead me to Temple Square.
It is definitely a big temple. And full of wonderful gardens. I took a little stroll through the courtyard and felt like I was in a hidden garden. And the people are really nice there too! During my walk through Temple Square, so many people came up to me wanting to talk and tell me all about the Temple and the city. I thought hospitality like that was only in Texas.
After touring Temple Square, I went over to Farr Better Ice Cream and grabbed a tasty frozen treat. Their strawberry ice cream was delicious and the old fashioned atmosphere was quite relaxing. I sat outside enjoying my ice cream and people watching.
Later, the other guys joined me in a search for some entertainment and we headed over to FastKart Indoor Speedway. We raced go-karts and enjoyed some head-to-head competition on the arcade games.
We played Kilby Court that night. Kilby Court is an interesting venue. It is small, giving an intimate feel to the show and reminded me of a garage band kind of feel. The stage was too small for us to fit on so we actually played completely unplugged and acoustic - kind of a Storytellers type vibe. Next time we will probably end up at Soiled Dove.
