Rehoboth Beach Independent Film Festival
Whether you're a movie buff or not, you'll want to check out some of the 100 American and international films which willl be shown during this five-day festival. Viewers will be able to watch features, shorts and documentaries at a single multiscreen location and attend seminars. The festival also offers a chance to meet celebrity guests and will feature special events, including as a Children's Cinema Corner.
The festival will be held Wednesday through Sunday, Nov. 7-11, at Movies at Midway in the Midway Shopping Center on Coastal Highway just north of Rehoboth Beach. General admission tickets are $10 and youth tickets are $9. All tickets can be purchased at the festival box office at Midway Shopping Center; a separate ticket must be purchased for each film. Crafty Bastards Arts & Crafts Fair
Check out D.C.'s most popular street fair, where vendors sell everything from punk-rock baby clothes to one-of-a-kind iPhone cases. The ninth annual event will showcase numerous arts and crafts from Etsy and underground artists from the community. The fair will also feature Young and Crafty, which gives youths an opportunity to sell their creative products.
The fair runs 10 a.m.-5 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 10, at Union Market. Tickets are $5 online in advance for a 2-for-1 purchase and are $5 per person at the door. For more information, call 202-332-2100.
PA Beer Fest
Sample over 250 beers from 100 breweries from across the country at the inaugural PA Beer Fest. A general admission ticket will grant you endless 1-ounce samples and a commemorative tasting cup. The event will also feature live music and food vendors. Make sure you bring a designated driver.
The festival is split into two sessions, 1 p.m.-4 p.m. and 7 p.m.-10 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 10, at the Pennsylvania Convention Center. New York Chocolate Show
Satisfy your sweet tooth at the largest chocolate show in the country, which is celebrating its 15th anniversary this year. The three-day event caters to over 15,000 visitors, professionals and journalists, and features some 150 of the best chocolatiers and pastry chefs from America and overseas.
The festival runs Friday through Sunday, Nov. 9-11, at the Metropolitan Pavilion, 125 W. 18th St. Hours are 10 a.m.-7 p.m. Friday and Saturday and 10 a.m.-6 p.m. Sunday. ACC Men's Soccer Championship
College soccer fans won't have to travel far to watch their favorite teams battle it out at the annual ACC Championship. This two-day competition at the Maryland SoccerPlex will feature two semifinal matches and a championship. The event will also be aired on ESPN3 and ESPNU.
The semifinal matches will take place at 5:30 p.m. and 8 p.m. Friday, Nov. 9. The championship match is at noon Sunday, Nov. 11. Single-session tickets are $10 for adults and $7 for youths. Three-game packages are $17.50 for adults and $10.50 for youths. For more information, go to theacc.com.
