Best of Ocean City 2014 [Pictures]
The boardwalk and streets of Ocean City are crowded with restaurants, bars, mini golf courses, stores and ice cream parlors, each and every one tempting in its own way. So how to know which is best? The Baltimore Sun asked readers to weigh in, and hundreds did, choosing their favorites in 20 categories, including best hotel, best event, best dining and best happy hour. The votes are in, the guessing is over and the results are here. There's only one thing left to do: get the best-ever summer started. -- Karen Nitkin, for The Baltimore Sun

Best family dining: The Dough Roller( Karl Merton Ferron, Baltimore Sun / May 4, 2014 )
Various locations, doughrollerrestaurants.com
With a menu of family favorites including pizzas, pancakes and hot dogs, Dough Roller is always a safe choice for the learning-to-read crowd and their weary parents. (And it doesn't hurt that grown-ups can order a beer, wine or cocktail.) The first Dough Roller opened in 1980, and now there are four locations, though only the South Division Street restaurant serves fried chicken and soft-shell crabs. The other three Dough Roller restaurants make up for it by opening for breakfast.
Runner-up: Phillips Seafood
