A beach trip isn't a beach trip without a crab feast, but great crabs are just as easy to find in the Baltimore area as they are in Ocean City.
In the city, hit L.P. Steamers in Locust Point or, if it's riverside crabs you're craving, make the trek to Cantler's Riverside Inn in Annapolis. Longtime host Brigid Finlay calls Cantler's "the most traditional, classic, Maryland place I've ever been. It's great to sit out on the deck, drink a beer, have a great view and eat crabs."
Cantler's Riverside Inn; 458 Forest Beach Road, Annapolis; 410-757-1311; cantlers.com; 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. Sundays through Thursdays and 11 a.m. to midnight Fridays and Saturdays.
L.P. Steamers; 1100 E. Fort Ave., Baltimore; 410-576-9294; locustpointsteamers.com; 11:30 a.m. to 9:30 p.m. Sundays through Thursdays and 11:30 a.m. to 10 p.m. Fridays and Saturday.
