Miracle on the Hudson
Capt. Chesley "Sully" Sullenberger safely lands USAirways Flight 1549 in the Hudson River. The flight out of New York's LaGuardia Airport had been in the air for just 90 seconds when a collision with a flock of birds forced a dramatic landing in the icy river. All 155 passengers and crew on board survived the January crash. Shown: Airline passengers wait to be rescued on the wings of the Airbus 320 jetliner that safely ditched in the frigid waters of the Hudson River in New York, after a flock of birds knocked out both its engines.
