Why it's hot: Actually, it's not hot. It's the perfect temperature just about year-round. It has historic culture, stunning beaches, a vibrant downtown it's California's second-largest city - and a world-famous zoo. Visiting is a sure thing, in fact, you might want to move here. Check out the shopping and restaurants in the Gaslamp Quarter and the first Spanish settlement on the West Coast, located in Old Town in Mission Valley. Head out over the bay to experience the romantic shores of Coronado.
