Distance from Baltimore: 4,421 miles, about a nine-hour flight
Why it's cool: An off-season wintertime visit might yield a lot of space to yourself. Prague is full of historic monuments from the Charles Bridge to the Old Town Square, which is full of houses and churches dating back to the twelfth century. Not to be outdone, the Petrin Observation Tower, modeled after the Eiffel Tower, offers a great view of the city. Also worth seeing is the Art Master Gallery, which features collections from Russian, Georgian, Armenian, and Ukraine artists.
Don't miss: The Astronomical Clock has been considered a jewel of Prague since the tenth century. People gather around the clock to watch a skeleton ring the bell as a trumpet sounds from the top of the tower. This moment can be witnessed between 9 a.m. and 9 p.m.
