By now we're all three layers deep into our down-filled parkas and up to our ankles in slushy, cold white stuff. Perhaps a winter getaway is not in order. Maybe a beach vacation? But whether you like it hot or cold, here are 100 destinations sure to hit the spot.

Distance from Baltimore: 1,124 miles, about a three-hour flight or a 16-hour drive
Why it's hot: Go for the food, the football and the festival. Mardi Gras takes place Feb. 12, but right before that the city welcomes Super Bowl XLVII on Feb. 3. To make way for the game, parades will begin the end of January. New Orleans also has a renowned aquarium, charming neighborhoods and swamp tours, plantation tours and more.
Don't miss: Bourbon Street or the French Quarter. But more importantly, don't miss dining at SoBou, a modern Creole saloon with serious food; Cochon, where the pork is locally sourced; or Café Du Monde, for a cup of chickory and a sweet dusty beignet.
