Why it's cool: Located in the Shenandoah Valley, Bryce Resort offers winter fun for the whole family. There are eight unique ski trails and five lifts for skiing and snowboarding. For beginners Bryce Resort offers ski and snowboard group or individual lessons. The resort also offers snow tubing. The entire family can enjoy racing their tubes down the 800-foot hill. After a long day on the slopes, you can eat at Restaurant at Bryce Resort, offering seasonal specials and cozy favorites. Or stop by the Copper Kettle Bar and Lounge, featuring live entertainment. While the resort doesnt own any lodging accommodations, there are several cottages and condos tucked in the hills surrounding Bryce Resort. If you feel like venturing away from the slopes, you can visit the Cave Ridge Vineyard. Located about 20 minutes from the resort, Cage Ridge Vineyard offers a variety of red, white and specialty wines. Or for a more kid-friendly adventure, visit the Route 11 Potato Chip Factory, about 30 minutes away in Mount Jackson.
