Why it's hot: This beautiful city, located in the foothills of the Andes, is a wine enthusiast's and outdoors adventurists dream. Mendoza is one of nine cities in the worldwide network of Great Capitals of Wine, and is home to numerous Malbec wines harvested in high-altitude vineyards. In December the weather is hot in humid, which lets visitor take advantage of the varied landscape to hike, climb and to white-water raft in the Mendoza River.
