Timberline Four Season Resort is in the Canaan Valley area of West Virginia. The resort has 100 acres of skiable terrain and the South's longest ski trail -- Salamander -- at nearly two miles. The trail breakdowns are 34 percent easy, 32 percent more difficult and 34 percent expert.
What it costs: Adult tickets range from $29 to $48 on weekdays and $36 to $60 on weekends.
