Pictures: Baltimore's Checkered Flag Girls
As roving ambassadors for Labor Day weekend's Baltimore Grand Prix, the Checkered Flag Girls will be appearing throughout the area in the weeks leading up to the event. With hundreds of thousands of car-crazed visitors expected for the three-day event, the Checkered Flag Girls may have their work cut out for them, familiarizing newcomers with the city and ensuring Baltimore lives up to its nickname of "Charm City."

What do you do when you're not a Checkered Flag Girl?: Enrollment specialist at CCBC.
Were you a racing fan before you became a Checkered Flag Girl?: "I'm an all-around sports fan. Any kind of sporting event, I'm there. When I found out the Grand Prix was coming to Baltimore, I thought this would be a great opportunity to get into something else. And now that they're coming to Baltimore, I'm definitely going to be more aware of things going on in racing."
Favorite thing about Baltimore: "Going out, the nightlife. Federal Hill's good, Power Plant's good, Canton's always a good spot."
What would you say to a first-time visitor to Charm City?: "Definitely come to the harbor, and definitely see the race, obviously. Just check out downtown, all the local restaurants and the different hotels we have down here to stay in."
