If you go: Booking a cruise

Baltimore Sun reporter

Carnival Cruise Lines, 888-227-6482, carnival.com.

The Carnival Pride sails year-round from Baltimore with a variety of itineraries. Through Sept. 9, the ship is offering six-, seven-ƒ|and eight-day cruises to the Caribbean, the Bahamas and Florida. After that, the Pride will sail a seven-day itinerary that alternates weekly between the eastern Caribbean and the Bahamas/Florida.

Fares for an inside cabin start at about $599 per person plus port charges, fees and taxes. We booked our cruise in February for about $579 each with our AAA membership discount. A Carnival promotion called "Early Saver" rewards those who book at least five months in advance (for a six-day or longer cruise) with a guarantee that if prices go lower before your cruise, you will receive an onboard credit for the difference.
