Last Halloween, my wife and I visited Northern California. We enjoyed San Francisco, Muir Woods, and Napa Valley. Our favorite destination was the 4 days we spent in Yosemite National Park. After the drive through the switch back roads of the Sierra Nevada Mountains, we arrived in Yosemite Valley to be treated to the site of Half Dome (8,842 feet) bathed in the dramatic Alpenglow effect from the sun setting on the canyon. This is the view from the Sentinel Bridge over the Merced River.
