It was the third trip to Ireland for my husband and me. We stayed in the tiny village of Robertstown on the Grand Canal that runs from Dublin to the Shannon River in the west. My sister, who lives to ride her horses in the mountains and valleys around Reno, Nev., had joined us during the first week of our month-long stay. She and a friend and I took a long walk on the canal. The white horse in this photo appeared like magic just as a light rain began to fall -- a memorable Irish moment.
