Caryn Collier, Baltimore Sun
September 14, 2011
I spent a month in Switzerland, France, and Italy, and took over 2000 photos of interesting sites. This photo was taken in late May of 2011 in the small town of Vevay, Switzerland located on Lake Geneva. I took a spontaneous boat ride that landed in this small town and I decided to have a look around. I was wandering the many streets of this quiet, peaceful town when I turned a corner and spotted this interesting painting on one of the towns clock towers. It was impressive in size and an interesting subject matter. The contrast between the "old" city and this somewhat contemporary painting was visually stunning. Even though the painting is aging in spots its vision is still captivating.
