Lewes

Lewes, Del., is a gorgeous, peaceful town with a fighting past. Lacking a boardwalk, amusement park or strip of condos awaiting the arrival of college students, it's a beach town for those disenchanted with mid-Atlantic beach towns. And with a ferry that traverses the waters year-round, Lewes is also a logical shortcut to the Victorian seaside town of Cape May, N.J.
