Why it's romantic: One visit to this waterside resort in Baltimore's Harbor East and it's easy to become infatuated. The hotel oozes with extravagant elegance: a soaring lobby and circular staircase lit by handblown Murano glass fixtures, custom-designed furnishings, avant-garde floral displays and a museum-worthy collection of original installations and art by contemporary American and international artists. Vibrant hues are a nod to the Washington Color School. "First-time visitors often think they've walked into an art gallery," says general manager Julien Carralero. Four Seasons also has a 10,000-square-foot spa, three gourmet restaurants from chef Michael Mina and sweeping windows that showcase the urban skyline.
Whom to take: A love interest you want to impress. The hotel's patrons run the gamut from corporate tycoons to Ravens players, including Justin Tucker, who staged an elaborate proposal for his girlfriend (now fiancee) on the rooftop deck.
