20 new things at BWI [Pictures]

In the 1950s, when BWI-Marshall Airport was new and known as Friendship International Airport, families would make the trip on a Sunday afternoon to stand on an open-air deck and watch the planes land and take off. Photos of those families are now part of a display in the newly refurbished Observation Gallery at BWI. The gallery is one of a number of improvements, expansions and updates waiting for travelers during the busiest travel season of the year – Thanksgiving.
