Amanda Seyfried

Amanda Seyfried

Amanda Seyfried will star opposite Megan Fox in "Jennifer's Body," Diablo Cody's follow-up to "Juno."

Karyn Kusama ("Aeon Flux") will direct the horror-comedy, which is set up at Fox Atomic with "Juno" helmer Jason Reitman producing.

The Cody-scripted "Body" focuses on a small-town cheerleader (Fox) who begins devouring the local boys after some sort of demonic possession. Seyfried will play the cheerleader's sarcastic best friend, the only person capable of stopping her.

For most viewers, Seyfried is either best known as the ditzy friend in "Mean Girls" or as the doomed Lilly Kane from "Veronica Mars." She's also been a regular on HBO's "Big Love." The 22-year-old actress is expected to get a major profile boost from her starring role in the upcoming big screen version of the ABBA musical "Mamma Mia!"
