'The Biggest Loser' host Allison Sweeney

CBS' crime dramas racked up big numbers Tuesday, but the finale of "The Biggest Loser: Families" allowed NBC to keep pace among adults 18-49.

CBS averaged a 10.9 rating/17 share in primetime, far and away the night's best overall showing. NBC took second with a 6.1/10. ABC, 3.7/6, edged FOX, 3.6/6, for third, and The CW brought up the rear at 0.8/1.

In the adults 18-49 demographic, NBC and CBS tied for the lead at 3.8. FOX took third with a 2.2. ABC earned a 2.0 and The CW a 0.4.

"NCIS," 12.0/19, dominated the 8 p.m. hour in households and total viewers, although the first hour of "The Biggest Loser" (6.5/10) gave NBC a small edge in the 18-49 demo. "A Charlie Brown Christmas," 4.7/7, put ABC in third. FOX got a 4.2/7 from a "House" rerun. The CW trailed with a "90210" repeat.

CBS stayed on top at 9 p.m. with "The Mentalist," 11.6/18. "The Biggest Loser: Families" improved to 7.8/12 in its second hour. FOX's "Fringe" rerun, 3.1/5, and ABC's "According to Jim" tied for third. The CW aired a "Privileged" rerun.

"Without a Trace" easily won the 10 p.m. hour for CBS with a 9.2/16. The premiere of "Momma's Boys" on NBC shed about half its lead-in to finish with a 4.1/7. "Eli Stone" drew a 3.4/6 for ABC.
