A military man, played by Jake Gyllenhaal, experiences a phenomenon that places him into a more lethal sort of "Groundhog Day" in director Duncan Jones' ("Moon") clever 2011 melodrama.
The hero is sent back in time - repeatedly - into the last minutes of a commuter train's travels, to determine who was responsible for the terrorist act that destroyed the locomotive. Michelle Monaghan plays a fellow passenger, and Vera Farmiga is the face and voice giving the hero his orders. Jeffrey Wright also appears. DVD extras: audio commentary by Gyllenhaal, Jones and writer Ben Ripley; cast interviews; trivia track; "Science Focal Points." *** (PG-13: P, V) (Also on Blu-ray and Movies on Demand)
