Meet the '13 - Fear Is Real' Brave Souls
Thirteen contestants test their deepest fears on the new CW reality show
'13 - Fear Is Real': Steffannie, Lauren, Nasser, Erica and Cody
A musician, model, bartender and hotel concierge are just a few of the lucky 13 contestants who will face their deepest fears on "13 - Fear Is Real," the new horror/reality show on The CW debuting Wednesday, Jan. 7.
Stranded in a remote Louisiana bayou, the 13 competitors will have to face surprises and scares or else be eliminated and "killed off." The last person standing goes home with the $66,666 prize.
Some of the challenges will include situations straight from the horror movies and will no doubt play on the fears of the individuals, which range from the usual creepy crawlies such as roaches and rats, to the situational (drowning, being burned alive, suffocation) to the bizarrely specific: "Clowns with spiders for hands and needles for stilts." Uh, okay, Cody.
A couple of the guys, Nasser and Rodney, claim to be fearless, a boast that will certainly be put to the test, and poor Laura, who says that "being stranded or lost" is just out of luck it seems.
Probably the person who is the worst off is 21-year-old student Leah, who confesses: "I don't watch horror movies at all. I already have to sleep with a nitelight or my television on. If i watch a horror movie I can't sleep by myself for days." The good money is not on Leah.
Encore performances of the show will air on Fridays at 9 p.m. ET, starting Jan. 9.
