Indianapolis—The Indiana Department of Transportation (INDOT) will continue a series of closures this weekend to repair concrete on interstate highways in the Indianapolis area.
Berns Construction, the state’s contractor, will close the right two lanes of eastbound I-465 from Kentucky Avenue (exit 8) to mile marker 6 near the White River. The closure will begin Friday, September 16 at 10 p.m. and will be reopened by 5 a.m. on Monday, September 19.
During the closure, damaged concrete will be removed in sections and replaced at depths between 12 and 15 inches. Most of the damaged concrete will be removed Friday night, and the remainder of the closure is needed so the concrete can properly cure.
Drivers can learn the locations of work zones before they depart by calling INDOT’s TrafficWise at 1-800-261-ROAD (7623) or on the internet at www.TrafficWise.IN.gov.
