Resident killed in apparent home invasion on west side

Victim, girlfriend, and two teenage children were sleeping at the time of the shooting

Indianapolis

The Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department is investigating a fatal shooting following a home invasion on the west side.

Police were called to a home in the 3900 block of Kalmar Drive just before 3:30 a.m.

When police arrived, they find an unresponsive man suffering from a gunshot wound.

The victim, identified as 43-year-old Mark Fuller of Indianapolis, was pronounced dead at the scene a short time later.

Detectives believe Fuller and his girlfriend were asleep in the home when three males forced their way into the house.

Police said they demanded money and ultimately shot Fuller.

Two teenage children were also inside the home at the time but they escaped unharmed.

Police searched the area for the suspects but there have yet to be any arrests.

Anyone with information is urged to call CrimeStoppers at 317-262-TIPS.
