The BMW Championship
in Carmel, Ind. has resumed following a temporarily delay due to the rain Wednesday.
A Severe Thunderstorm Watch issued until 6 p.m. for parts of Central Indiana prompted the evacuation of the Crooked Stick course.
Patrons were instructed to wait out the storm in their vehicles until the rain passed. Indiana State Police announced on their Twitter that shuttles were transporting patrons to the parking area in order for them to wait out the storm.
Authorities said approximately 30,000 people came out to the course Wednesday.
The course reopened around 1:05 p.m.
Officials said golfers will play nine holes instead of 18.
