The murder that's rocked a small community happened outside a house in Unionville. A neighbor heard a gunshot and another neighbor saw 52-year-old David Moore laying in the driveway.

"It was the neighbor right there that seen him laying in the driveway and had called my parents to down and check,” described neighbor Eric Sluss. “Just found him laying there."

Monroe County detectives arrived on the scene finding a gunshot wound to the back of David's head. It didn't take them long to figure out who did it.

They say 28-year-old Lucas Holland of Brown County robbed David and got trying to stop him.

"He pulled in and the guy was stealing his 4 wheeler back of his truck. He pulled in on him and caught him and they got into it," explained neighbor Clyde Deckard.

Officers in Brown County made a quick arrest when they spotted Holland driving a truck with the stolen four wheeler in the back. He's now sitting in the Brown County jail facing a murder charge.

"The ATV in the bed of the truck did belong to Mr. Moore," said Monroe County Sheriff Brad Swain.

David Moore owned Extreme Lawncare and was a well liked man in Unionville. He leaves behind many friends and family members.

"it was senseless you know i mean why kill somebody over property," said Sluss.
