A team from the Indiana Hemophilia and Thrombosis Center left for Kenya in an effort to save lives Thursday.
The group of medical professionals will bring boxes of supplies and equipment to Eldoret.
While there, they'll provide testing and care to patients during special health fairs. They'll also lead a three-day education symposium for Kenyan healthcare professionals.
"Tuesday is World Hemophilia Day so we're going both to celebrate World Hemophilia Day and to continue the progress that we've made thus far with developing the hemophilia treatment center there ,” said Chris Roberson, Director of Compliance and Community Programs.
This is the fourth trip the group has made. The trips are a collaboration of Moi and Indiana Universities, the IHTC and the Kenyan government.
