Terre Haute

An Indiana State University student was arrested Tuesday after police said he downloaded child pornography onto his computer using the university’s main server.

Taylor Bruckerhoff, 20, was preliminarily charged with one count of child pornography, a Class C felony, and one count of child pornography, a Class D felony.

Indiana State Police said detectives investigated Bruckerhoff for approximately six weeks, looking into allegations that dated back to February.  Police received a tip in March from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children, which indicated there were images of child pornography on e-mail accounts and social media sites allegedly linked to Bruckerhoff.

On April 3, a warrant was issued to search Bruckerhoff’s dorm room, electronics and vehicle.  Police recovered less than 100 digital images of young female child pornography.  Additionally, police discovered Bruckerhoff allegedly used an on-line chat room for the purpose of purchasing and/or distributing child porn.

Bruckerhoff is currently held in the Vigo County Jail on a $25,000 bond.
