Hoosiers have the opportunity to listen to music from artists from around the world at the Indy Jazz Festival (IJF).

The IJF will have events and concerts open to the public from September 10 to 16. The main outdoor days of the festival are on September 15 and 16.

The Sunset Series, indoor acts during the weekday, include performances by the Aaron Diehl Quartet, Cheryl Bentyne and Mark Minkler “West Coast Cool,” Latin Tinge and Slide Hampton with The Steve Allee Big Band.

The Robert Glasper Experiment, Karl Denson and Tiny Universe, Brian Culbertson and Gerald Albright, will be just a few of the performers at the Opti Park Shows.

The IJF committee encourages participants to bring a chair or blanket.

Pets, umbrellas, weapons and bikes are not allowed at the concerts. Bags of those attending will be checked at the gate. There will be a bike rack outside of the premises; however, the IJF committee would like to remind bikers that they are not responsible for lost or stolen bikes.

Although you cannot bring outside food, coolers or drinks to the IJF events, there will be food and beverage vendors. The vendors only accept cash payments. ATM’s will be available.

A free shuttle parking is available at the east overflow lot of Glendale Center at 62nd and Keystone Avenue. The shuttle service will be available on Saturday, Sept. 15 from 3:45 p.m. to 11:30 p.m. and on Sunday, Sept. 16 from 2:15 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. If necessary, the shuttles will transport people later to ensure that everyone gets to their vehicle.

General admission seating costs $30. Two-day admission GA seating costs $50. A JazzPass, access to any and all IJF event during the week, is $139. A $500 contribution is necessary to have the Bandleader VIP experience on September 15 and 16. Those who give a $1,000 contribution will receive the Festival VIP Experience.

Discount tickets for the general admission seating and JazzPass are available at central Indiana Marsh Supermarkets.

Tickets purchased online will be at the will call section of the event. No refunds will be given to those who purchase tickets. Performances will commence in rain or shine.
