Indianapolis

It may have been one of the happiest days for a New York Giants player on Sunday.

Not only did linebacker Greg Jones, 23, receive a ring for the Giants’ win over the New England Patriots, he also got engaged.

Jones proposed to his college girlfriend following the 21-17 victory over the New England Patriots on Sunday.  The linebacker popped the question as blue and red confetti filled Lucas Oil Stadium.

“She was bawling,” Jones told the NJ Star-Ledger on Monday. “I was like, ‘I don’t know how long she’s going to keep crying.’”

Jones and his fiancé, 24-year-old Amanda “Mandy” Piechowski, met at Michigan State University three years ago, but reportedly began dating one year ago.

Jones told the paper he would have delayed the proposal if the Giants lost at the Super Bowl.
