Jackson County Commissioners voted Tuesday to give the remnants of the 139-year-old Bell Ford Bridge to the groups, which want to restore the span and erect it over Fall Creek in Indianapolis' Fort Benjamin Harrison State Park.
The bridge was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 2005. It was built in 1869 and is made of wood and iron.
