Couponing 101: Class to help you save money

Using coupons is not that difficult, but doing it well is!  However, there is a local class coming up that can teach you everything you need to know.

It is a true beginner’s guide to the world of couponing, and it is coming to Central Indiana October 22.
Sarah Christiansen is quite the coupon clipper.  She even has the big binder full of coupons she uses, and she will teach you what she knows.
It is Couponing 101, and it can benefit you in a big way.

“Who doesn't want to save money,” said Christiansen. “You can cut your grocery bill up to in half.”

Sarah admits, the work can be tedious, but simple.  It’s even more manageable if you don’t do all your coupon clipping and searching in one day.

Just spread it out.  Here is one tip: Go through your Sunday paper inserts.  Stack just the single sheets of the inserts and cut them individually and then put them either in your binder like I have or whatever filing type of system that you use.

The seminar is at the Franklin Parks and recreation department from 10 a.m. to noon, Saturday October 22.  But heads up, you just can't walk in!
You have to pre-register.   It’s at the Parks Department so they require a registration form, but it is free to anybody!
The registration can be found on-line, and you have to register at least one week in advance.  Here’s the link: and can be emailed to

At the seminar, you'll also receive information on how to make the most of your shopping trip and you’ll get several resources such as websites that offer printable coupons and local store's policies.

Sarah said to be prepared to take notes, because there's a lot of information, but it can save you a lot of money.
