His Holiness the 14th Dalai Lama of Tibet will visit and present talks on the campus of Western Connecticut State University on Oct. 18 and 19, according to a school press release.

The visit was arranged in cooperation with Do Ngak Kunphen Ling, the Tibetan Buddhist Center for Universal Peace, in Redding, Ct. The events will be open to the public; tickets will go on sale sometime in the near future.

As the spiritual leader of Tibet, the Dalai Lama has lived in exile since 1959. He received the Nobel Peace Prize in 1989 and has authored over 70 books. He yielded his role as leader of the Tibetan government in 2011.
