Ouch! I had a really tough week last week going only 15-10. That drops my overall record to 63-26 so I'm hoping to rebound this week. Let's see how you do against me!
Northwestern over Iowa - Northwestern is off to a good start against bad teams while Iowa was looking good until last week when they suffered a tough loss to Pitt. I look for the hangover to continue.
Michigan State over Indiana - Sparty looked good in handling ND last week. They will probably hand the ball to Jevon Ringer 40 times and run all over IU's week run defense.
Ohio State over Minnesota - Beanie Wells is supposed to play this week and Terrelle Pryor seems to have the starting spot locked up. That being said, the Buckeye's just don't look very good this year but Minnesota isn't exactly BCS ready.
Purdue over Notre Dame - If Curtis Painter can play like he was expected to this game won't be close. If Painter struggles the game should be close. Notre Dame dominated a terrible Michigan team but followed that up by looking terrible at Michigan State. I don't think they are all the way back yet.
Wisconsin over Michigan - Michigan really needed the bye week to keep building on the new spread offense. I think they will continue to improve as the season goes on but they are not there yet. Wisconsin should win easily.
Penn St. over Illinois - In a game that could determine the Big 10 champion, I look for Penn State to win at home in a "White Out" game. Illinois is good but they don't seem to be able to put together a complete game yet this year.
UConn over Louisville - Louisville had a good win last week but I think it was more of the exception than the rule for the Cards this year. UConn isn't flashy but the have been winning games. I have them winning in a close low scoring game.
Clemson over Maryland - Maryland is a tough team to figure out this year. They beat Cal and lose to MTSU. I think the "lose to MTSU" team will show up this week and they will lose on the road to Clemson. I'm not really sold on Clemson either but I think at home they take this game in a bit of a shootout.
Miami over North Carolina - Miami just has too many athletes for North Carolina. I will be surprised if UNC puts up more than 10 points in this one and Miami wins a defensive battle at home.
Auburn over Tennessee - Auburn lost a heartbreaker last week at home against LSU. They also won a game 3-2 this year. Tennessee needs this game to save their season and possibly Phil Fulmer's job. The problem is that Tennessee is just awful. Auburn will have a bad first half but run away with it in the second half and win big.
Colorado over Florida State - Colorado had a big win on national TV last week and there is a chance for an upset here but Florida State could only manage 3 points against Wake Forrest at home last week. 2 quarterbacks combined to throw 5 picks for the 'Noles and that won't get it done against Colorado.
Fresno State over UCLA - Fresno looked pretty good to start the season. Then suffered a devastating loss to Wisconsin and a let down/scare against Toledo before winning in overtime. UCLA got thrashed last week and hasn't looked good other than an opening win against a bad Tennessee team.
TCU over Oklahoma - Oklahoma has rolled on everyone they have played this year. Sam Bradford could win the Heisman. The defense is stout and there are weapons at every position on the offense. Plus, they don't lose at home (55-2) under Bob Stoops. There last loss at home was in 2005 to, you guessed it, TCU. The Horned Frogs aren't scared of Oklahoma and looking to earn some respect. Oklahoma will be assuming the number 1 spot if they can win but I see them cracking under that pressure.
South Florida over NC State - Will the South Florida up and down season continue? Or will the team that beat Kansas show up? Does NC State have another top 15 upset in it at home? Will the impending tropical storm turn this game into a slop fest? Where did I put my car keys? I guess the questions will all be answered on Saturday.
Alabama over Georgia - Knowshon Moreno is still the most impressive athlete in college football and Matt Stafford seems to have found a deep threat. But the 'Bama has a not so secret weapon in the Incredible Bulk. Terrance Cody is listed at 365 pounds but it is said he is much closer to 400. He can still dunk a basketball and is a force on the inside. The same inside that Georgia starts a Freshman Center.
Nebraska over Virginia Tech - Va Tech is trying to implement more of a spread option attack to breathe some life in its offense. It helped them get a win at North Carolina last week but they are still ranked 113th in the NCAA in total offense. Nebraska hasn't been tested to date but I give them the nod because they get the Hokies at home.
Ball State over Kent State - This game should be a blowout. Ball State looked really good at IU last week but suffered the terrible injury to Dante Love. I think Nate Davis still has enough weapons to get it done though.
Texas over Arkansas - Colt McCoy is having an amazing year. He is racking up yards and touchdown with both his arm and legs. I look to Colt running less now that the Big 12 season is starting in hopes that he can stay healthy. Arkansas hasn't recovered from losing both running backs from a year ago. They are 2-1 but got throttled last game against Alabama. I think Texas wins big.
Troy over Oklahoma State - Troy looked good in a loss last week to Ohio State and are always upset minded. So I will keep picking them in an upset until I look smart. Oklahoma State has a very good team this year and everyone knows that there coach is a man and he is 41 this year.
Florida over Ole Miss - Florida is very fast. Ole Miss lost to an improved Vandy team last week. Florida big.
LSU over Mississippi State - LSU won a huge game last week against Auburn and they are nearly unbeatable at home. Mississippi State is having a tough go at it this year. I think LSU wins easily.
Stanford over Washington - I don't think this is the week that Washington gets its first win. Stanford doesn't have a lot of talent but Jim Harbaugh has the team playing with a lot of heart and I think they gut out a close win on the road this week.
South Carolina over UAB - South Carolina should be able to put up a lot of points against a porous UAB defense. If not it could be a long season for the other USC.
Washington State over Oregon - Another possible upset. How many quarterbacks can Oregon go through? It is obviously disrupting their offense as seen last week against Boise State.
Colorado State over Cal - Another chance for the Mountain West to beat the Pac-10. Cal got shocked by Maryland but a loss to Colorado State could make it a trend.
