Crews are still on the scene of a water main and gas pipe break. Metropolitan District Crews received a call of a water main break at 11 p.m. at the intersection of Stone St. and Arlington St. Hartford. Crews responded at midnight. While water crews were trying to trying to fix 6 inch water pipe, they noticed a gas leak. As of 6:30 a.m., It should take a couple of more hours to finish fixing the Water main pipe. The main break is producing water on the road, which is creating ice. Street Services truck is dropping sand. Officials believe that the water main break was caused by the very cold temperatures.While repairing the water main break, the smelled gas. Connecticut Natural Gas Crews have not found the source of the gas leak. Natural Gas service has been turned off to 8-10 homes. The area is closed in the area of the break.
