WOW!! What an honor to be in the audience as former Notre Dame football coach Lou Holtz gives a motivational speech. Mister Holtz was honored at the Second Mile Dinner on Friday, March 27th, and yes, I was there. The Second Mile is an organization founded by Jerry Sandusky (ironically, the former defensive coordinator for Penn State). The organization helps underprivileged children reach their full potential and also gives them the push they need to strive for the best. Every year, a leader in the field is honored and this year it was Coach Holtz.

I know I live in Penn State country, but I am a huge Notre Dame fan. I grew up watching Coach Holtz on the field with the Irish every Saturday. Those were the days of Tim Brown and "Rocket" Ismail. My house was filled with memorabilia, including pictures and banners.. everywhere! The love and 'Luck 'o the Irish' was passed down to my brother & I from my Dad, who is a die hard fan!

Meeting the coach in person was truly awesome! He is very sincere and genuine person. I was lucky enough to get pictures taken with him and congratulate him on a truly legendary coaching career. I have attached photos from that night, take a look.. it is an event I will never forget!

In the words of Lou Holtz, "don't live life as a spectator, be a participant."
