NEW YORK (WPIX)—The first annual Tear Up The Pierre took place this week at The Pierre Hotel on the East Side. The event, hosted by New York Jets Offensive lineman Damien Woody and his wife Nicole, was an intimate evening to celebrate the holiday season and help New Yorkers in need. All proceeds went towards supporting the Robin Hood Foundation and PROS Foundation (People Reaching Out to Someone). "PROS is guided by a simple principle: It is better to give than to receive; we feel this especially holds true during the holiday season," said Damien Woody, Founder of PROS. "We wanted to bring the community together to aid those in need and extend a hand to New Yorkers living in poverty with the help of the Robin Hood Foundation. We want this city to become a stronger and healthier environment starting today."
The fundraiser included an intimate cocktail party with the team, followed by a fashion show, featuring the players and their family members including Nicole and Damien Woody, D'Brickashaw Ferguson, Jerricho Cotchery, Steve Weatherford, Antonio Cromartie, Brandon Moore, Kellen Clemens, Logan Payne, Vernon Goldstein, Wayne Hunter, and Tony Richardson modeling collections from Sean John, Akoo, Pelle Pelle and Apple Bottom. Attendees included the New York Jets, philanthropists, fashion and entertainment executives, media and celebrities including Danielle Staub from the Real Housewives of New Jersey.
The Robin Hood Foundation targets poverty in the city by finding and funding the best and most effective programs and partnering with them, while PROS supports the health and well-being of the next generation and inspires positive community action.
